Muse of Fire

Poster painting and design for a play. Based on true events, its concept referred to a group of Jewish prisoners in the Dachau Concentration Camp fighting to retain their humanity by putting on a secret comedy play.

Following German Expressionism as visual reference, the sketches depicted distorted perspective and composition.

Watercolor painting on a 56x66cm (22x26in) 300g paper. Letters also by hand.

Scan in high resolution and adjustments in Photoshop.

The play was performed in the Jewish Community Center of San Francisco, USA.
